Packed Bed Analysis
Reza Pourdarvish

In this study, the solubility and diffusion coefficients of solutes into the polymer stationary phase or from a polymer phase in to the gas phase, have been determined. A mathematical model was used to describe the process of passing the gas through the packed bed column, which was filled with the certain diameter polymer beads, to determine the solubility and diffusion coefficients. The model was based on a material balance around the packed column. Several assumptions were applied in derivation of the model. Two partial differential equations were solved simultaneously to determine the concentration of the solute in the outlet gas.
