The Center has collaborated with its industrial partners on the formulation and drying characteristics of various coatings and paints. Most of this work has been related to the modeling of the complex drying processes to form coatings and films from polymer-solvent solutions. Multi-component as well as multi-layer systems have been considered. Although the Center has conducted some research utilizing polymer latex systems, the preponderance of the work has been with polymer solution systems.
