The thermodynamics and phase behavior related to polymer-solvent compatibility is critical in many applications of polymers and processing such as membrane formation. The Center's experimental and theoretical capabilities are uniquely suited to investigate problems related to solvent-polymer compatibility. Both liquid chromatography and inverse gas chromatography have been used in such studies.
